Just One More Thing – Volume 4

Happy Hump Day! I apologize for my absence the past week or so. My life is going through some massive changes (which I promise to share on here soon!) so I haven’t been able to post. Fear not, I’ll be back with gusto, soon! In the mean time, here are a few things I want to make sure I mention!

The Five Types of People You See In Spin Class

I have recently gotten really into spin class. I hated my first one with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns. I was so bored and the inhumanely hard seat made me count the minutes until it was over. But for some reason I kept forcing myself to go. Learning that there was a family history of heart disease pushed me to give cardio a real chance and after about seven classes of misery, I started to really like it. And now? It’s a very healthy addiction. While the playlists and instructors change, one thing that doesn’t is the archetypes that seem to always be in every class. Below are the five types of people that seem to have perfect attendance.

Just One More Thing – Volume 2

The HQ App

I am absolutely hooked on this app, and I feel like I’m the last person on earth to know about it. Every day at 3 pm and 9 pm you will get a push notification that the game is about to begin. If you log in, you begin a 15 question trivia game. It is single elimination, and the longer you last in the game the harder the questions become. The prize? $2,500. It. Is. So. Addictive.

Garnier Naturals Soothing Face Mist – Rose Water

I saw this on Instagram a few days ago and naturally I had to go find it! Face mist? I don’t have a fact mist! Do I need a face mist? Turns out, I do! This mist is simply a moisturizing spray. I use it on days when I have to go straight from the gym to work, or feel like my face needs a little bit of a pick me up. It smells just delightful, and gives your skin a dewy sensation. A perfect primer! You can buy it at Target, Ulta, and Walmart!

Talbot’s Sperry Tennis Shoes

I have long been a fan of boat shoes, and when Sperry started making darling feminine tennies a few years ago, they rapidly became my favorite run around shoes. I am absolutely dying over these blush ones. Let’s see how long I hold out before have to buy them.

Disposable Cups

I have long felt that presentation is half the taste. Did Martha Stewart say that? Or was it my mom? Anyway, with presentation being half the taste, I needed to up the presentation of my green smoothie. There are few things in this world grosser than trying to clean a reusable cup that has dried on spinach after it has sat in your car for your entire work day. Enter: these plastic cups. Not the most environmentally friendly, but they make my smoothie look so appetizing and like it came from an expensive smoothie shop instead of my kitchen and so I just love them! You can’t beat the price either!

Daffodils at Trader Joes

Trader Joes has daffodils. Repeat: Trader Joes has daffodils. Daffodils are always my sign that spring will indeed come. Since you buy them before they bloom, they are a lovely metaphor for me that all flowers will bloom again if we are just patient. My mom used to put them in blue Ball jars all over the house, and now every time I see them I am reminded that sunshine is just around the corner! Winter shall end!

Pure Love for Pure Barre

My journey with Pure Barre started just over two years ago. My best childhood friend had been going to Pure Barre back home in California for about six months and had been trying to get me to try it. I had been curious, but, fearing the unknown, I had been hesitant. I finally mustered up the courage on the last day of December 2015. I arrived 25 minutes early for class, so anxious and excited. I was immediately put at ease when the teacher peaked her head out of the course she was teaching, and, with the biggest smile on her face said, “Are you new? Welcome!” She showed me the forms to fill out, and jumped back in to class to keep going. I was touched that she would make sure I was taken care of, even while she was busy teaching! I was already encouraged and class hadn’t even started! The second class began, though, I could tell: this was something special. The upbeat rhythm of the music, the clear set up of where to go and what to do, and the routine of the way we worked our muscles made me feel so in control. I was not only challenged physically, but I also loved how civilized it all was! I was so disappointed when it was over! I ran up to the teacher after class and asked, “can I take class again tomorrow? Do you need a rest day with barre or can I come every day?” Needless to say, I was HOOKED. A Review of Fab Fit Fun From Someone Not on The Bachelor

Have you noticed that about once a quarter your Facebook and Instagram feeds are bombarded with ads featuring veterans from the show The Bachelor raving about how much they love their Fab Fit Fun box? You can’t get away! For months and months I resisted. While I appreciate the industriousness of their partnership, since they were all doing it, I couldn’t really take them seriously. I had no clue if it was a great deal or a waste of money. I searched for a review a few times, but couldn’t find what I was looking for. Naturally, I took this as a challenge, so I went ahead and ordered a box to see for myself if it was worth the hype.

Just One More Thing – Volume 1

Today I am starting a new series on the blog. I am sure I am not the only person that has a friend or family member that has a habit of telling you “just one more thing” multiple times when you are about to get off the phone. I have found that I often have lots of little things to share on here, but they don’t necessarily merit a whole post. I am starting a weekly “Just One More Thing” series for this exact purpose!
